I think one of the things about electronic music is that it's pretty impossible to define a simple history or through-line and even if you were to try, you'd end up with so many records it'd be pretty overwhelming. I guess it's because electronic music is often made by individuals and with simple equipment, so unlike bands, even the supposedly influential figures have zillions of different aliases, and records they whipped off in the bath, didn't think much about, and then someone else picked up in a record store miles away and years later and went 'oh, i want to make music that sounds like this'.
